Rep. Terri Leo Wilson, a Republican representing Texas’ 23rd House district since 2023, recently shared several updates on her official Twitter account highlighting community events and recognitions in her district.

On August 4, 2025, Leo Wilson acknowledged the efforts of local students and businesses by posting, “It was my honor to recognize the Anahuac HS students and businesses that participated in the Summer Job Training Program sponsored by the Anahuac Municipal Development District. This program matches students and businesses together and gives each student the opportunity to learn.”

Later that day, she commented on her participation in a retirement ceremony for a military leader: “At the helm of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District has been Commander Rhett Blackmon. It was an honor to attend his retirement ceremony and to present him with a flag flown in his honor over the Texas State Capitol.” The recognition of Commander Blackmon marks an acknowledgment of leadership within an important federal agency responsible for civil works projects along the Gulf Coast.

Additionally, Leo Wilson highlighted local charitable work and business development with another post: “It was my honor to recognize the grand opening of the “The Thrift Barn” in Winnie and present the Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas and the Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce with a certificate of recognition.”

Leo Wilson assumed office following her election in 2023, succeeding Mayes Middleton as representative for Texas’ 23rd House district.
