OCEAN STAR OFFSHORE DRILLING RIG AND MUSEUM: Celebrate Galveston Museum Day Jan. 25-26

Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Musuem issued the following announcement.

Visitors to Galveston will be able to start their new year off with a glimpse into the Island’s storied past during Galveston Museum Day taking place Jan. 25-26, 2020. The event will feature free and discounted admission to 12 Galveston-area museums.

During Museum Day, visitors can learn about Galveston’s place as one of the wealthiest cities in the United States during the late 1800s, the powerful families who helped build the city, Galveston’s significance to immigration in the region and the importance of the industries that keep Galveston thriving. They will also be eligible to win a stay at Hotel Galvez, home to a hall of history and known for its ghost tours, plus attractions passes.

The special event features The Bryan Museum, known for housing one of the world's largest collections of artifacts from the American Southwest, to the Bishop’s Palace, filled with ornate fireplaces and stain-glassed windows designed by Nicholas Clayton and built in 1892.

Other participating museums include the Galveston Naval Museum, the Galveston Arts Center, Galveston Railroad Museum, Moody Gardens, Moody Mansion, Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum, Rosenberg Library, Texas City Museum, Galveston Children’s Museum and The Grand 1894 Opera House.
