“This is by far our best band lineup of the last 10 years,” said Yagas Entertainment president Mike Dean, who is in his 10th year organizing the festival for the city of Galveston. “Concerts are part of what make the Mardi Gras experience different in Texas, and we are excited to bring in these great local bands and homegrown Texas talent.”
Blue October, which formed in Houston in 1995, has 14 top-40 charting singles, including the platinum hits “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean” from their 2006 platinum album “Foiled”. They released their first album, “The Answers”, in 1998. The band is comprised of Ryan Delahoussaye (multi-instrumentalist), Matt Noveskey (bass) and brothers Jeremy (drums) and Justin Furstenfeld (front man). They will perform live at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in downtown Galveston’s Saengerfest Park on the Corona Stage during the kick-off weekend of Mardi Gras! Galveston.
