The Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce has named Page Michel its incoming president.

The Chamber reported July 15 was her first day on the job, though current President Jenny Senter’s retirement goes into effect on Dec. 31. The Chamber's Board of Directors has taken on a transition method known as the Success Plan that aims to smoothly guide the group through Senter’s departure and Michel's entry.

Page will step into the official role as president in January.

“Our organization is poised for 2021 with Page’s experience and talent,” Chairman Rusty Plackemeier said. "She brings a wide variety of leadership skills that will grow and elevate our already successful Chamber."

Page previously led the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, tourism bureau and economic development office for nearly 20 years.

“Our communities of Texas City and La Marque will gain immensely from Page’s experience, not only in the Chamber profession but also her knowledge of economic development,” Chairman Elect Georgia Meyer said.
