The Dickinson Economic Development Corp. (DEDC) has provided approximately $395,500 in financial assistance to Dickinson small businesses.
According to a DEDC, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, DEDC and Dickinson’s City Council launched the Dickinson Emergency Business Retention and Expansion Grant Program to provide financial support to local small businesses, enabling them to survive and even expand their services during a time of economic turmoil. To date, 54 Dickinson small businesses and one nonprofit corporation have received $394,488 in financial relief through the program.
“This emergency grant program is another prime example of what economic development is all about in Texas, and especially in the City of Dickinson,” CEO/Executive Director Scott Jones said.
DEDC Board of Directors President Robert Donley noted that “Dickinson stands behind its small business operators 100% of the way. It always has and it always will.”
