CITY OF CLEAR LAKE SHORES: CLSPD Operation Safe Celebration

Ballpen

City of Clear Lake Shores issued the following announcement.

To avoid drinking and driving and keep residents safe after the New Year’s Day celebrations, the Clear Lake Shores Police Department will set in motion their “Operation Safe Celebration.”

CLS PD officers will provide a courtesy ride home to our residents during New Year’s night. This service will be available beginning December 31st at 10:00 p.m. through January 1st at 3:00 a.m.

To request a safe ride home, you need to contact the Clear Lake Shores Police Department at (832) 621-8142 and provide an ID with a local address. This service will be available for residents within a 3-mile radius distance from Clear Lake Shores and will only provide courtesy rides to the address indicated on the ID.

In addition, CLS PD will have extra units on duty to increase patrol presence and ensure that everyone is safe during New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. “Our goal is to have the safest roads around,” said Chief Tracy Keele. “We ask that you give us a call and request our Operation Safe Celebration officers to assist you in making it home safe and sound. Just show us your ID with a local address, and we will be glad to take you home. We wish for everyone to have a joyous and prosperous New Year, and hope that your night of celebration is filled with good times and happy memories. We also remind everyone to drink responsibly, and to designate a driver when ringing in 2021.”

The City of Clear Lake Shores and the Clear Lake Shores Police Department wishes all of our residents a safe and Happy New Year!
