CITY OF CLEAR LAKE SHORES: Moderna vaccines available to those 65 and older starting Thursday, Jan.

Vaccination

City of Clear Lake Shores issued the following announcement.

Beginning Thursday, January 7th, the Galveston County Health District will offer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to those who are 65 years of age and older, by appointment only.

The health district this week received an additional 400 vaccine doses. Due to limited supply, they are opening appointments to those who are 65 years of age and older as they are one of the most vulnerable populations at an increased risk to develop severe illness from COVID-19.

The COVID-19 phone bank will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6. Please call 409.547.4015 to make an appointment.

More shipments are expected in coming weeks. The health district plans to expand who is eligible to receive the vaccine as more doses are made available. As vaccine availability increases in 2021, people will be able to get vaccinated at doctor’s offices, pharmacies, hospitals and other usual sites.

If you would like to receive a vaccine, you can visit the Texas COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Locations map

Please keep in mind that not all locations are currently vaccinating the general public. You can also check with your health care provider to see what their plan is to roll out the vaccine.
