There were 190 students enrolled in Ambassadors Preparatory Academy in the 2021-22 school year, 22.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 58.4% of them were girls, and 41.6% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were African American, representing 52.6% of the Ambassadors Preparatory Academy total enrollment.

Ambassadors Preparatory Academy roughly covers schools within Galveston County with its main office in Galveston.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
