How many white students were enrolled in High Island ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 120 white students enrolled in High Island ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that High Island ISD schools welcomed 151 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 79.5% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

High Island ISD roughly covers schools within Galveston County and has a main office in High Island.

High Island School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 120 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
